James A. Turner

 
 

Professional Experience

Mr. Turner specializes in forensic and investigative accounting, fraud, embezzlement and employee misconduct investigations, and economic damage analysis in complex commercial litigation.  His commercial litigation experience includes fraud investigations in connection with large scale sub-prime mortgage pools, real estate and construction matters, fiduciary responsibilities, corporate and partnership dissolutions, business interruption, fraudulent transfers, employment disputes, government contracts, lost profits, and environmental damages.


Mr. Turner has assisted counsel and clients on a broad range of cases involving financial, accounting and economic analysis.  His work has encompassed a wide variety of industries including banking, retail distribution, trust fund accounting, professional services, construction, governmental accounting, medical research, insurance, securities, real estate and high technology. 


Mr. Turner has served on the Early Resolution Panel of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California as a neutral mediator/arbitrator in disputes involving complex financial and employment matters.  He has also been appointed as a Special Master by California Superior Courts and is a panel mediator for the San Francisco Bar Association and the San Francisco County Superior Court.  He has participated as an instructor in courses and seminars at Stanford University Law School, Hastings Law School and the University of Santa Clara Law School on economic damages, use of an expert witness, litigation consulting and demonstrative evidence.


Mr. Turner received his Bachelor of Science, with Distinction, in Business Administration and Accounting (with a minor is speech communications) from San Jose State University and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA), summa cum laude, from Pepperdine University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), board certified in financial forensics (CFF), and a board certified specialist in business valuation (ABV).  He is qualified as an expert on accounting, financial fraud, business valuation and economic damages in both Federal and State courts.

 

James A. Turner, MBA, CPA, CFE, ABV is the Managing Director of Forensic Solutions, LLC. 


Prior to joining Forensic Solutions, Mr. Turner was a Managing Director of BDO Consulting, a division of BDO Seidman, LLP.  

Prior to that, he was a Principal in the National Forensic & Investigative Accounting Group of a publicly traded economic consulting firm.  He also worked on a one-year assignment for the Department of Justice as a forensic accountant and fraud investigator.  Prior to that, Mr. Turner was in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the audit and consulting group at Arthur Andersen & Company.
